TECH: A scrap of character?

I'm cleaning up piles of papers in my office, and found a scrap where I had carefully written down a list. I think it was from a workshop or something, but I was trying to figure out what it meant?

1. Objectives: love, power, strength, knowledge... desires!
2. Strengths
3. Flaws
4. Circumstances: Occupation, secrets, formative events, inciting events

I think it was intended to be a quick brainstorming tool for developing characters, or some such. I mean, what are they after, what are their personal strengths and flaws, and the environment or circumstances that surround them?

So, your exercise for today! Take a character in something you are working on, and walk through these points. What are they trying to achieve? What are they good at and what do they struggle with? And, of course, what is their background? Work, secrets, the events that have shaped them, the events that are pushing them now...
